Conference "CERN - Ukraine: past, present, future"
On May 28-29, 2024, the international conference "CERN - Ukraine 2024: Past – Present – Future" was held in Kyiv. The conference was attended by 93 participants, with the majority choosing to participate online. A total of 39 oral presentations were delivered across 6 sections by leading scientists involved in high-energy physics projects at CERN, focusing on collaboration with CERN.
On behalf of the organizing committee, we express our gratitude to the CERN leadership and the heads of laboratories for their participation in the conference.
During the speeches by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Anatoliy Zagorodniy and other participants, it was emphasized that Ukrainian scientists are grateful to CERN for the decision to cease cooperation with the russian federation and the republic of belarus. They also hope that further participation of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in CERN experiments will also be suspended.
