International school-seminar for young scientists «Functional materials for technical and biomedical applications»

September 7-10, 2020 in the Koropove village the traditional annual International School-Seminar for Young Scientists "Functional Materials for Technical and Biomedical Applications" was held. This year’s conference is dedicated to the memory of Yuriy V. Malyukin, a prominent specialist in the field of functional materials and a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The event is organized by the Institute of Scintillation Materials of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The event was held in compliance with all norms and recommendations of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine during quarantine caused by coronavirus COVID-19.

The school-seminar was attended by 53 scientists from Ukraine, Germany, Poland and Israel. 7 scientists gave a lecture. It was possible to make reports both in the traditional form and with the help of online broadcasting on the Zoom platform.

During the work, oral reports of young scientists on the technology of obtaining functional materials, physical properties and applications of functional materials, nanotechnology and nanomaterials, luminescent technologies in biology and medicine were heard.

The "highlights" of this year's school-seminar were the lectures of Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Borys V. Grinyov "Academy. Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow." and from art critic Victoria Bavykina "Political Actionism as a Radical Manifestation of Contemporary Art."

The next international school-seminar "Functional materials for technical and biomedical applications" is planned to be held in September 2021 under favorable conditions. We invite everyone interested!
